Our Malt Houses

Our Malt Houses

Baltika Breweries meets almost all of its needs for malt, produced from domestic barley at its own malt houses in Tula and Yaroslavl. The company's experts use the classic malting method, which includes steeping, germination and gentle drying.

Russian-Grown Brewing Barley

Russian-Grown Brewing Barley

Baltika uses almost 100% malt produced from brewing barley grown in Russia. This is made possible by the Company's agricultural program, launched in 2005 to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality raw materials.

Satellite Crop Monitoring

Satellite Crop Monitoring

Since 2020, our agricultural program has incorporated satellite-based remote sensing to monitor crop development. Satellite imagery captured in dedicated spectral ranges enables us to assess photosynthesis intensity and monitor crop health across every field every 7–10 days, providing valuable insights for our agronomy specialists.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Working closely with agricultural producers, our specialists continuously implement initiatives to reduce CO₂ emissions associated with barley cultivation and malting. These include soil analysis to optimize fertilizer application, supporting farmers in adopting minimum- and zero-tillage practices, monitoring environmental conditions through satellite technologies, and reducing transportation emissions by partnering with farms located close to our breweries and malt houses.
